what if laziness is a habit of
thinking about the cost of things (the effort)
instead of thinking about the payoff? [1]
what if you could reverse laziness...
by developing a habit of
thinking more about the delicious food that you would like to enjoy
instead of how long it would take you to get up and go get it?
if you were to test this at home and try to see if...
you can think more about the good outcome
and less about the work
would you get it done?
why is it that people have a second child?
why does a woman go through this awful childbirth to have a second child?
dont they always say the same thing...
"if I remembered how bad it was, i wouldnt do it again"
but there they go...
accepting the torture of 2 3 4 childbirths
because...
not thinking about the effort is vital to your survival
if you focused on how hard it was to have a baby
you just wouldnt do it.
or you would do only little of it
but if you focus on how awesome it would be to have a family
well
there you go
your commitment to a positive outcome is gonna help you
go through the pain
so are you ambitious when youre not lazy?
or do you simply have a positive thinking habit
thinking about the positive outcome
which produces dopamine?
and its the dopamine that gets me up and moving?
so when you think of all the things you do
think about them in terms of their benefits
thats how you get things done!
two related examples...
example 1
my father doesnt want to see me
because he is expecting a stressful interaction
because we had stressful interactions before
is that a reason to expect stress all the time?
i dont think so
for me thats a loser mentality
(his focus is on the effort or pain)
example 2
it was deep winter in berlin
the year was 2012
it was freezing
back when we still had cold winters
with actual snow
and shot a film outside
everyone was freezing
the actors the camera man and me
but despite the pain and effort
i only focused on the doing and getting it done
i was not explicitly focusing on the positive outcome
but on the activity itself
which makes me conclude that...
you can focus on the effort of doing it (a negative future projection)
you can focus on the activity of doing it (being present in the moment, there is no past or future)
you can focus on the positive outcome of having done it (a positive future projection)
you pick your focus
oh, one last thing before you go...
the other day i focused my thoughts on becoming a billionaire
it didnt work
boss kicked me out
girl filed for divorce
and my kids call me mr. kluge
the next day i focused my thoughts on dying like kurt cobain
(i became a vampire)
if youre thirsty for blood as i was in the past
i cannot help you
but i can help you
if youre suffering from a mono-pack
because
with a copy of summer smile ☀️
you get a six-pack in no time
but dont quote me on that
because you will have to be... NOT LAZY
so heres the link
and heres your fomo scarcity urgency
because in 10 days im gonna take it off the internet
naii "has positive thoughts → gets dopamine (rewards) → takes action (movement)" io
