you move and you travel
they are two different things
as seth godin points out [1]
"moving is physical"
"moving takes us from one place to another, one job to another, one situation to another"
but "travel is an emotional journey"
if you allow it to be
because when you avoid the emotional labor of travel,
you build a cocoon around your senses
and discover nothing
thats when you act like a mr. know-it-all in school
instead of opening up to whats in front of you
right here
right now
you try to validate your own presuppositions
so you feel safe, secure and home
but why did you then travel abroad in the first place?
if your intention was to just move around
spending time and money doing so
thats fair enough
but what if you actually opened your heart on the journey
be tickled by the foreign moment you are in
and feel the touch with a pure heart open?
sure, you might get hurt
but you might also fall in love with the foreigner who held your hand
isnt that worth the risk?
oh, one last thing before you go...
i used to be on drugs all the time
because i hated school hated life hated myself
until i realized the purple cow i saw was not a manifestation of my trip
it was the product of a book i read by seth godin
and now i am wondering
who is the junkie here?
¡Ándale, arriba!
naii "is ready to get hurt because it makes me feel alive" io
