"watch out, dont trip over your feet"
a boy shouted down the hallway
bursting into laughter
finn kept his head down
and continued walking down the school corridor
such harassment had become an everyday occurrence for him
only this time
finn turned around
gave the loudmouth the middle finger
and was about to shout a clever insult after him
when the other boys face turned red with rage
clenched his fists
and ran toward finn
[…]
a green ball of light began to form between his fingers
[…]
the light hit him
finn was thrown backwards by the pressure and heat
he was completely blind
and his body was lifted into the air like a leaf in the wind
then he crashed hard against the wall
[…]
the commotion had immediately attracted a crowd of onlookers
one of the female students even came a little closer to check on the boy
but as soon as the dust settled
she ran back to her group
and pretended nothing had happened
"ha ha, ha!"
"you werent trying to help that loser, were you?"
one of them teased
"i didnt see who it was"
replied the girl
her cheeks reddening
[…]
finn didnt know whether he wanted to cry or scream
but it didnt matter
no one would care anyway
[…]
he lived in a single room in a dormitory provided by the government
because he had no living relatives
and was only 16 years old
[…]
he didnt own much
just a suitcase
and a large, thick book that weighed about half a kilo
[…]
finn examined the book
"why wont you open?"
"why did mom and dad even have this stupid thing?"
finn had tried burning the book, cutting it up, using blades and crowbars, but nothing had worked
frustrated and dejected
he turned on the tv
he didnt really pay attention to what was on
but with the sound of a few other voices in the room
he felt less lonely
[…]
it has now been 30 years since humanity encountered the so-called dalki
the dalki looked almost human
except for their black scaly skin and dragon-like tails
[…]
the nations of the world had been at war with the dalki for decades
and among the millions who were mobilized were finns parents
but it was only when humanity was almost defeated that the originals appeared
people who had special abilities from birth
the dalki were still powerful enemies
but thanks to the originals supernatural abilities
the dalki and humanity finally signed a peace treaty
[…]
one day, an official appeared at his door
and told him that his parents were dead
the official also gave him the book
saying it was the only thing his parents had left him after their death
his entire inheritance
a useless tome that he couldnt do anything with
worthless
he had nothing
and he was all alone
it was enough to make him cry
"why is the world so unfair?"
finn asked bitterly into the silence
and the only answer he got was the babbling of the television
[…]
to make matters worse
blood was still dripping from his nose
frustrated, he put the makeshift glasses on the table
and dug out a handkerchief to wipe up the blood
only now did he notice that some drops of his blood had landed on the book cover
he tried to wipe the cover with a gentle movement
his caution seemed a little ridiculous to him
the stupid thing was indestructible
what could possibly happen?
but it was still the only thing he had left from his parents, and...
the tip of the handkerchief was dry
and so was the felt book cover
[…]
even though it was broad daylight outside
the book had drunk his blood
and it seemed to swallow the light of the sun as well
the book began to glow
tremble gently
and rose into the air
the trembling grew stronger
and with a sound of tearing flesh the book opened before finns eyes
he couldnt take his eyes off the book
even if he had wanted to
finn stared at the dancing pages
the words were in a language he had never seen
and without his glasses
he could barely make out what the symbols looked like
no letters but jagged hieroglyphics in deep red ink
yet for some reason, he felt he understood them
as if he knew exactly what was written on the pages
as if he had always known
as soon as the book finally turned its last page
it snapped shut with a hiss and began to disintegrate
cracks formed along the symbols and lines
and the book slowly crumbled into dust
and then vanished completely
at the same time
finns vision began to fade
his body felt weak and drained
and his eyelids became incredibly heavy
but just before he passed out
he heard an electronic, robotic voice echoing deep inside his skull
"activation complete"
"welcome"

is this the greatest storytelling of all time?
not at all
but still pretty cool, right?
.
.
oh, one last thing before you go...
i always found vampire stories to be kinda gay
maybe because i saw wigged tom cruise in one
or because sucking blood is not really scary
im more of a psychological warfare kind of guy
which is why i encourage you to look behind you
because there is something you should see
but dont turn your lights on
you might regret it
unless you want to read your favorite summertime joke lines
i mean temperatures here in germany are getting down to 11 degrees celsius already
so summer is pretty much over
but on my clock you still have 25 days
to grab your copy of summer smile
before the vampires turn the world into a very dark place
naii "is secretly gay and likes a good anal entrance" io
